On June 5, TapTechNews reported that the Birthplace and Museum of Thomas Alva Edison in Milan, Ohio, USA, has now officially started generating electricity using the donated rooftop solar system.
TapTechNews noticed that this donation was supported by multiple solar manufacturers and installers. SolarEdge provided inverters and power optimization solutions, MeyerBurger provided rooftop solar panels, Unirac donated the support structure system, and the US National Renewable Energy Partners provided professional technology and manpower to install the rooftop solar system.
The Birthplace Museum of Edison will not only reduce the electricity bill but also allow visitors to learn more about Edison's interest in optimizing and exploring efficient energy.
Historical records show that Thomas Edison recognized the potential of solar energy and supported it. It is reported that in a conversation in 1931 between Edison, Henry Ford, and Harvey Firestone, he mentioned, I would put my money on solar energy. What a powerful energy source! I wish we didn't have to wait until oil and coal are exhausted to study it.
Board member of the museum, Ron Cull, said that he hopes to reiterate Edison's far-sightedness in the development of electricity by installing a rooftop solar system on this iconic building.
