Sinopec's Guangzhou Petrochemical Hydrogen Fuel Cell Project Update

TapTechNews July 3rd news, Sinopec officially announced that the expansion and transformation project of the hydrogen fuel cell hydrogen supply center of Guangzhou Petrochemical completed mechanically on June 30th and entered the production preparation stage.

According to the introduction, the project includes a 5200 standard cubic meters per hour hydrogen purification device, a hydrogen refueling mother station and supporting units, which is the largest hydrogen fuel cell hydrogen supply center in South China.

After the project is put into use, the total production capacity of fuel cell hydrogen in Guangzhou Petrochemical will exceed 5100 tons/year, and the hydrogen filling stations will increase to 8, which can effectively meet the hydrogen demand in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and even in South China.

TapTechNews learned from the official data that the first phase of the hydrogen fuel cell hydrogen supply center of Guangzhou Petrochemical was put into production in December 2020, and it successfully produced hydrogen with a purity of 99.999%. It is the first high-purity hydrogen production base of Sinopec in South China and the first hydrogen fuel cell hydrogen supply center with the longest commercial operation time. Up to now, a total of 1245 tons of high-purity hydrogen have been supplied.
