TapTechNews July 8th news, according to the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, at the 2024 Shenzhen-Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone Industrial Investment Conference held today, BYD completed the signing of the third phase project of the Shenshan BYD Automobile Industrial Park with the Shenzhen-Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone. The total investment of the project is 6.5 billion US dollars, and it is planned to build a battery pack line and a core component factory for new energy vehicles.
It is reported that BYD first invested 5 billion US dollars in August 2021 to build the first phase project of the Shenshan BYD Automobile Industrial Park; in January 2022, the two sides signed a contract to invest 20 billion US dollars to create the second phase project, which is positioned as a vehicle manufacturing base with factory-port linkage. Subsequently, the first phase project of Shenshan BYD achieved commissioning and full commissioning in October 2022 and December 2023, respectively.
In March 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology agreed to the relocation and expansion of the Shenzhen New Energy Passenger Car Factory of BYD Automobile Industry Co., Ltd.
