XPeng Motors Hits 1000th Self-Operated Supercharging Station in Wuhan

TapTechNews July 6th news, XPeng Motors officially announced that XPeng's 1000th self-operated supercharging station with 20 piles has been located in Wuhan Zhongjin Times Square (ground parking lot), adopting S4 liquid-cooled super-fast charging technology, with 20 piles in a single station, and can serve more than 1000 XPeng car owners within a 3-mile radius.

XPeng Motors officials said that Wuhan's charging network already has 44 self-operated charging stations, including 40 self-operated supercharging (including S4) stations and 4 self-operated destination stations, as well as 4 third-party free charging stations.

From January to June 2024, XPeng added 209 self-operated stations and added coverage in 19 cities, and the 3-mile self-operated station coverage rate for first-tier city owners increased to 74%.

TapTechNews previously reported that the single-pile maximum power of XPeng's S4 self-developed supercharging pile is 480 kilowatts, the single-pile maximum current is 670 amps, the peak charging power is 400 kilowatts, claiming to charge 200 kilometers (CLTC) in 5 minutes, and entering the 15-minute era for charging from 10% to 80%.

XPeng Motors also announced that the 800-kilowatt S5 liquid-cooled super-fast charging station is about to go online, supporting interconnection and interoperability of multiple charging platforms, and can provide up to a 960-kilowatt mainframe power configuration.
