TapTechNews October 10th news, the automotive media motorsport released a blog post today (October 10th), reporting that Skoda Motorsport has drawn inspiration and technology from its World Rally Championship Rally2 car, launching a brand new electric concept racing car, Enyaq RS Race.
TapTechNews learned from the report that the Enyaq RS Race is based on the road version of the Enyaq SUV and started its research and development in 2023, aiming to achieve handling performance matching that of the Fabia RSRally2.
In terms of power, the Enyaq RS Race is equipped with 2 electric motors and an 82 kWh battery, which can generate a maximum of 340 horsepower and a top speed of up to 112 miles per hour (approx. 180 kilometers per hour).
In terms of interior, the Enyaq RS Race almost copies the Rally2 car, equipped with rally-spec roll cages, hydraulic handbrakes, etc.
The Enyaq RS Race uses biocomposites and incorporates flax fibers, reducing the car's weight by 700 pounds (approx. 316 kilograms) compared to the Enyaq SUV.
