TapTechNews August 21, Mercedes-Benz today announced a partnership with the cloud gaming platform Boosteroid to provide cloud gaming functions for its models equipped with the third-generation MBUX infotainment system. Starting from next year, car owners will be able to enjoy more than 1000 high-quality games in the car, including Fortnite and Sea of Thieves.
According to TapTechNews, the Boosteroid platform provides access to high-end PC games and can be used through PCs, laptops, tablets, Android TVs and even mobile phones. Through cooperation with Microsoft, Boosteroid members can access PC games purchased through Steam or the Epic Games Store. Earlier this year, Microsoft also added support for selected games purchased through the Microsoft Store on Windows or obtained through the Game Pass subscription.
Mercedes-Benz said that the Boosteroid application will be provided as part of the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus, which means that car owners can enjoy the PC game experience anytime, anywhere. In addition to Microsoft's games, Mercedes-Benz vehicles will also be able to play games from platforms such as the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft.
The Boosteroid cloud gaming application will be available in 2025 in Europe as well as North and South America through the Mercedes-Benz in-car application store. For safety reasons, the game can only be played when the vehicle is parked and requires a Bluetooth gamepad or mobile phone to play.
