TapTechNews July 5th news, YouTuber @naga recently released a video showing his modified 8GB memory version of the Switch game console, which can even run multiple PC games smoothly.

Although the resolution is relatively low, most PC games can still get surprising performance. For example, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade can steadily maintain about 30 frames in most scenes, and Stray also performs well. And some older games, such as Devil May Cry, can even run at more than 30 frames. Although this number of frames is not ideal for action games, it is quite unexpected.

TapTechNews noticed that the other game Fallout: New Vegas shown in the video can even reach 60 frames in indoor scenes, and can maintain about 30 frames of smoothness in open areas. Even though there are some imperfections caused by non-hardware problems, the overall performance is still remarkable.

In addition, the console modified by naga also showed the scene of running The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom smoothly at 4K resolution, indicating that the current 4GB memory of Nintendo Switch is the most serious bottleneck.

Fortunately, Nintendo seems to have realized the memory issue. Previous revelations showed that the Switch iterative new machine to be launched next year will have 12GB memory, and its material texture quality may even exceed that of the Xbox Series S.
