BYD's Yangwang U8 Gets Smart Watch Vehicle Control Functions

TapTechNews August 15th news, BYD's Yangwang Automobile announced today that it will bring intelligent watch vehicle control functions to Yangwang U8, currently supporting Apple AppleWatch and OPPOWatch.

TapTechNews learned that in addition to being able to serve as a car key, users can also remotely control vehicle unlocking / switching on the air conditioner / checking the cruising range / flashing lights and honking through the watch, etc..

Yangwang U8 is positioned as a large SUV. The luxury version was officially launched in September last year, and the off-road player version was launched in April this year, with starting prices of 1.098 million yuan ($156,429). The two configuration models have slight differences in appearance. The off-road player version has redesigned the front and rear bumpers to improve the vehicle's passing ability, and the maximum wading depth reaches 1,400 millimeters (about 4.59 feet).

In terms of specifications, the length, width and height of Yangwang U8 are 5319x2050x1930 millimeters (about 17.44x6.73x6.33 feet), and the length, width and height of the off-road player version are 5325x2095x1940 millimeters (about 17.47x6.87x6.36 feet), and the wheelbases of both are 3050 millimeters (about 10 feet). It is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 2.0T engine and the Yi Sifang platform, with a combined output power of 880 kilowatts and a combined torque of 1280 Newton-meters.
