Ford Announces Electrification Strategy Expansion with Focus on Hybrid Technology

Ford's CEO, Jim Farley, said on Wednesday: We are committed to promoting innovation in the United States, creating jobs, and providing excellent new electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles.

Ford hopes to expand the electrification options and focus on hybrid technology to further cut costs and enhance market competitiveness.

Ford's chief financial officer, John Lawler, explained: We are committed to creating long-term value by building a competitive and profitable enterprise.

The first product of Ford's next-generation electric vehicle will be a brand new digitally Advanced Commercial Electric Van, which will start to be assembled at Ford's Ohio assembly plant in 2026.

TapTechNews learned from the report that as part of the restart strategy, Ford will postpone the commissioning plan of the newly built factory in Tennessee, which will be used to produce the next-generation all-electric pickup truck after completion. In addition, the company also canceled the plan of a three-row electric SUV.

Looking to the future, Ford plans to prioritize the development of hybrid models and new electric commercial vehicles such as new electric commercial vans in 2026, and then develop two pickup trucks in 2027.

Farley said on Wednesday: We have recruited the most skilled and creative professionals from within and outside of Ford to drive our radical change in the way electric vehicles are developed.
