China Mobile Releases Wide-Area High-Throughput 100 Gbps Network Card with Breakthroughs

TapTechNews October 10th news, at the sub-forum of 'Computing Power Network Co-Chain Action and Innovative Development' of the 2024 China Computing Power Conference at the end of September, China Mobile jointly released the wide-area high-throughput 100 Gbps network card with its partners.

China Mobile Releases Wide-Area High-Throughput 100 Gbps Network Card with Breakthroughs_0

China Mobile adopts the wide-area high-throughput protocol and develops a 100 Gbps wide-area high-throughput network card, achieving 70 Gbps effective throughput of cloud data synchronization within 5000 kilometers under the 100 Gbps physical bandwidth, which is 5 times higher than that of the traditional protocol.

According to the introduction, the wide-area high-throughput network card integrates China Mobile's self-developed original technology stack and has the core characteristics to meet the efficient transmission needs of large-capacity data in the wide-area network:

First, distance decoupling, the data transmission performance is not limited by the transmission distance, and the throughput does not decay;

Second, packet loss decoupling, the effective throughput is not affected within 0.1% packet loss rate, and the anti-packet loss performance is excellent;

Third, computing power decoupling, the throughput performance is not affected by the server performance, and the CPU load does not exceed 1%;

Fourth, deployment decoupling, the deployment does not require upgrading the existing network or adding new network elements, and it also supports convenient deployment on various servers including domestic servers.

TapTechNews learned from public information that since 2020, China Mobile has carried out technological innovation research related to wide-area high-throughput and has made many breakthroughs in mechanisms such as reliable transmission protocol and wide-area congestion control algorithm.

In October 2023, China Mobile achieved the first large-scale data stable transmission over a long distance of 2200 kilometers from Guizhou to Beijing in the industry;

In May 2024, China Mobile established a 'computing network integration' pilot team to carry out pilot verification of actual businesses such as gene sequencing, cloud data synchronization, off-site office work, and film and television production;

In June 2024, China Mobile completed the cloud data synchronization with 70 Gbps effective throughput within 5000 kilometers of 100 Gbps physical bandwidth from Harbin to Guizhou, which is 5 times higher than that of the traditional protocol.
