Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Recalls 1266 JAC iEVA50 Pure Electric Vehicles

TapTechNews May 17th news, TapTechNews learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products, filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation. It was decided to recall some JAC iEVA50 pure electric vehicles produced from February 14, 2019 to June 18, 2019, totaling 1266 vehicles as of now.

For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the software strategy problem of the battery management system, in the case that the vehicle has not been maintained in the store for a long time, the voltage difference between the internal battery cells of some power batteries gradually becomes larger, and if the voltage difference exceeds the designed value, it may lead to the vehicle's limited power driving. In extreme cases, high voltage power-off may occur and the vehicle loses power, presenting a potential safety hazard.

This recall activity is carried out under the circumstances of the State Administration for Market Regulation initiating a defect investigation. Affected by the investigation, Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. will upgrade the software of the battery management system for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.
