TapTechNews July 6th news, the tech media AndroidAuthority released a tweet yesterday (July 5th), indicating that Google is developing the microfuchsia system, which is a streamlined version of Google's FuchsiaOS and can run on the NestHub device.
Besides Android and ChromeOS, Google has been continuously developing a third system named FuchsiaOS. There are many speculations about this system, and one of the viewpoints recognized by the mainstream media is that it will replace the Android system in the future.
Similar to Android and ChromeOS, FuchsiaOS is also an open-source system. Only the former two are built based on the Linux kernel, while the latter is built based on Zircon.
Google claims that the Zircon architecture consists of the kernel, a small number of user-space services, drivers, and libraries required for core system functions such as startup, and contains only a few core functions, which can reduce the amount of trusted code running in the system and improve security and stability.
TapTechNews cited sources as saying that Google has been continuously developing a new project named microfuchsia since April this year, mainly through virtualization to allow Fuchsia to start on existing devices.
Google claims that microfuchsia is a Fuchsia OS build version for virtual machines, aiming to start through virtualization solutions such as QEMU and pKVM.
