Global Tablet Shipments in Q2 2024 Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, Huawei and Xiaomi's Performances

The global tablet shipments in the second quarter of 2024 were 34.4 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 22.1%, finally exceeding the pre-pandemic shipment volume (32.5 million units) in the second quarter of 2019.

Apple

The shipment volume of Apple in the second quarter reached 12.3 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 18.2%.

With the launch of the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air and iPad Pro models, the company finally achieved market growth. The sales of iPads have increased globally, but the Chinese market is an exception. The competition from local manufacturers such as Huawei and Xiaomi has had a negative impact on the company.

Samsung

Samsung ranked second with a shipment volume of 6.9 million units in the second quarter of 2024, with a year-on-year increase of 18.6%.

Samsung did not launch any major products in this quarter, but still achieved growth due to business deployment and the low base in the same period last year.

Lenovo

Lenovo ranked third with a year-on-year growth rate of 16.7% and a shipment volume of 2.5 million units this quarter.

The company's detachable tablet increased by 39.7% year-on-year, much higher than that of the tablet (11.7%).

Huawei

Huawei firmly ranked fourth this quarter, with a year-on-year increase of 40.3% and a shipment volume of 2.3 million units.

The new tablet MatePad 11.5S launched by Huawei performed well in the market, and the online promotion activities in China in June further promoted the growth.

Xiaomi

Xiaomi ranked fifth this quarter. The company's shipment volume increased by 94.7% year-on-year to 2 million units.

In addition to excellent results in China and the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan), the company also achieved remarkable results in the European market, and also had good results in Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and many other countries.
