TapTechNews August 29th news, in the press release showing the first MLPerf benchmark test result of the Xeon 6 performance core GraniteRapids processor, Intel stated that it will share more information about this processor in the launch event in September:
Intel will deliver more information about Xeon 6 processors with P-cores during a launch event in September.
Intel mentioned in the press release that the Xeon 6 performance core GraniteRapids processor achieved a geometric average score of approximately 1.9 times that of the 5th-generation Xeon in the six MLPerf benchmark test items of ResNet50, RetinaNet, 3DUNet, BERT, DLRMv2, and GPT-J.
And on the two AI workloads of BERT (natural language processing) and ResNet50 (computer vision), the performance of the Xeon 6 performance core CPU is 17 times and 15 times that of the 3rd-generation Xeon scalable processor, respectively.
Referring to TapTechNews' previous report, Intel is likely to launch the Xeon 66900P GraniteRapids-AP series of processors in the September launch event.
The series of processors will adopt the LGA7529 socket, be equipped with 3 Intel 3 process computing modules and 2 I/O modules, and support 12-channel DDR5 memory.
The flagship model of GraniteRapids-AP, Xeon 66980P, is expected to be equipped with 128 RedwoodCove architecture performance cores and 504MB LLC (L3) cache, with a power consumption of 500W.
