TapTechNews October 10th news, the leaker @MajinBu disclosed that Apple is preparing to use a new battery adhesive for all four models in the iPhone 17 series to be launched next year, while currently this technology is only applicable to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
This new type of adhesive helps users to disassemble and repair the phone by themselves. Users only need to apply a correct 9-volt low-voltage current to the new adhesive, and the battery can be detached from the mainboard frame effortlessly.
According to the iFixit teardown results, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have also adopted this battery disassembly method. Compared with the previous tensile-release adhesive, this method makes the battery disassembly faster and safer. However, the two more expensive models, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, did not adopt the above scheme but the traditional tensile-release adhesive.
