TapTechNews July 4th news, according to the Japanese media ROBOSTART report, JR West Japan and Hankyu Railway will deploy a new real-time speech recognition system YYSystem for passenger guidance demonstration tests at JR Osaka Station and Hankyu Osaka Umeda Station from July 12th to September 13th. It is reported that the system can use AI to translate conversations into multiple languages in real time, and both Japanese and the target language will be instantly displayed on a transparent display screen equipped with a directional microphone.

TapTechNews learned that the system supports 23 languages and is expected to provide more seamless services for inbound tourists or people with hearing impairments. This test will analyze the obtained data to verify whether it can respond to commonly used words or expressions in station information, and the goal is to introduce this system before the opening of next year's Osaka-Kansai Expo.

According to the introduction, the core of the YYSystem is a unique algorithm that visualizes sound and speech, which was originally developed by AISIN company for its internal employees with hearing impairments. Currently, the system is expanding its own functions and target audiences, including providing multilingual support for foreign users.

According to the deployment plan, the system will be set up at the railway information center and the lost and found center of JR West Japan Osaka Station, as well as the west side of the second floor and the west and east sides of the third floor of Hankyu Osaka Umeda Station.
