TapTechNews August 13th news, Wall Street Insights reported that SK Hynix has increased the price of its DDR5 DRAM chips by 15%-20%. Supply chain sources said that the price increase of Hynix DDR5 is mainly due to the occupation of HBM3/3E production capacity.
In June this year, there was news that the DDR5 price has a 10%-20% upside potential this year: Major manufacturers have allocated production capacity for DDR5 chips in 2024, indicating that the price is unlikely to decline; plus the second half of the year is the traditional peak season, it is expected that the price will increase.
Earlier today, TapTechNews also reported that the 1cnm DRAM using EUV lithography by SK Hynix and other three major original factories will be launched in 2024-2025. And starting from the next-generation 1dnm node, advanced memory will use EUV multiple exposures, greatly increasing the cost of the EUV lithography link in the production process.
