China's July and January-July 2024 Electricity Consumption Data Released

July 2024

The全社会 electricity consumption is 939.6 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 5.7%.

The electricity consumption of the primary industry is 14.2 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 1.5%;

The electricity consumption of the secondary industry is 565.6 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 5.0%;

The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry is 187.1 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 7.8%;

The electricity consumption of urban and rural residents' living is 172.7 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 5.9%.

From January to July 2024

The cumulative全社会 electricity consumption is 5597.1 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 7.7%, among which the industrial electricity generation above designated size is 5323.9 billion kilowatt-hours.

The electricity consumption of the first industry is 76.4 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 7.5%;

The electricity consumption of the second industry is 3632.9 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 6.6%;

The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry is 1039.6 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 11.0%;

The electricity consumption of urban and rural residents' living is 848.2 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 8.4%.

In the first half of this year, the cumulative全社会 electricity consumption is 4657.5 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 8.1%, among which the industrial electricity generation above designated size is 4435.4 billion kilowatt-hours.
