Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Update with New Features

TapTechNews May 18th news, Microsoft today released the KB5037867 update for Windows 11 to the members of the Windows Insider project in the Beta channel, and the version number rises to Build 22635.3640 after the user installs it.

The following features currently only invite some Beta channel Windows Insiders to participate in the test, and Microsoft will invite more users to participate later.

In addition to supporting the creation of ZIP files in the right-click menu of the File Explorer, it also supports the creation of 7-zip and TAR compressed files.

Microsoft has added a new compression wizard, allowing users to choose more formats and more details, such as users can compress a single file (and more) with gzip/bzip2, and can also add multiple files to tar-format compressed packages of different compression types, and users can also change the compression level and the type of data stored in each compressed package.

Microsoft introduces some new Emojis in this preview version, such as horizontal and vertical head shaking, phoenix, lime, brown mushroom and broken chain, thereby adding support for Emoji15.

Microsoft also supports new directional updates, including people/men/women walking, kneeling, holding a cane, running, manual wheelchair and electric wheelchair. Now, users can choose the right or the original left direction for these emoji.

Fixed the ctfmon.exe crash problem that may affect the text input ability.

[Window]

Corrected a problem related to the display of tabs in Alt+Tab. If the number of tabs is very large, this problem may cause explorer.exe to crash frequently.

Fixed the problem of the Start Menu crashing and all apps not being displayed in the previous preview version.

This update addresses a problem that may affect domain controllers (DC). NTLM authentication traffic may increase.
