TapTechNews July 6th news, according to Taiwanese media DigiTimes report, Apple will introduce the same 5x optical zoom quad-prism periscope lens as in the iPhone 15Pro Max in the iPhone 16Pro. The Taiwanese media claims that Apple has currently handed over the relevant orders to Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical for production, and the vast majority of orders go to Largan Precision.

Regarding this, Adam Lin, the chairman of Largan, said that the optical component industry is expected to achieve a sales peak during the period from September to November, which is consistent with the expected release period of the iPhone 16Pro model.

And sources close to the supply chain said that the camera modules currently produced by Genius Electronic Optical are undergoing quality tests by Apple. If they pass the necessary tests, it is expected to start large-scale production in the middle of July to prepare for the release of the iPhone 16 lineup.
