TapTechNews August 27th news, SquareEnix announced that its multiplayer game 'Foamstars (Bubble Stars)' will be freely available to all users starting from 9 am Beijing time on October 4th.
This game was released on February 6th this year and is exclusive to PS4 and PS5, with a price of 238 Hong Kong dollars in the PlayStation store (TapTechNews note: currently about 217 Chinese yuan).
As an online multiplayer game, it currently requires purchasing a PlayStation Plus subscription to play. SE mentioned in the announcement that after 'Foamstars' becomes free, consumers who have not subscribed to PS+ can also download and play for free.
For users who have already purchased 'Foamstars', SE plans to compensate them with a gift, including a variety of in-game items.
SquareEnix president TakashiKiryu previously told analysts that the sales of 'Final Fantasy VII Rebirth', 'Final Fantasy 16', and 'Foamstars' were all lower than expected.
