China's Quantum Computing Summit Alliance Expands, Focus on Key Themes

TapTechNews July 20th news, the 2024 China Quantum Computing Industry Summit and Quantum Computing Developer Conference was held today in Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, and representatives from more than 100 quantum computing-related units across the country from universities, research and development institutions, and upstream and downstream enterprises attended.

At the meeting, 13 enterprises, institutions and universities including China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd., Gansu Provincial Computing Center, and Hubei University signed up to join China's first quantum computing industry alliance, the Benyuan Quantum Computing Industry Alliance, meaning that the total number of alliance units exceeded 100.

According to the official introduction, the Benyuan Quantum Computing Industry Alliance was established in 2018. Currently, there are a total of 102 units in the industry alliance, including 18 in the upstream and downstream manufacturing alliance, 54 in the application ecosystem alliance, and 30 in the science popularization and education alliance.

TapTechNews found out that this summit is hosted by the China Computer Federation, undertaken by the Quantum Computing Professional Committee of the China Computer Federation and the Anhui Provincial Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center, and co-organized by Benyuan Quantum Computing Technology (Hefei) Co., Ltd., and it is the largest, highest-specification, and most closely integrated summit of production, education and research in quantum computing in China so far.

This summit focuses on the three core themes of finding partners, building ecosystems, and discovering talents, aiming to bring together upstream and downstream industrial partners in quantum computing, activate industrial exchanges and cooperation, explore application ecological scenarios, assist in talent cultivation and development, and promote the whole-chain development of the domestic quantum computing industry. Universities and research institutions such as the University of Science and Technology of China, the Key Laboratory of Quantum Information of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Xi'an Aeronautical Computing Technique Research Institute of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, and upstream and downstream application enterprises in quantum computing such as Benyuan Quantum Computing Technology (Hefei) Co., Ltd., Tencent (Shenzhen), and Guangdong Unicom will gather to discuss the development path of quantum computing in China.
