TapTechNews August 24th news, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg posted a blog today (August 24th), revealing that Apple is internally testing 4 Mac devices using the M4 chip and is expected to be released this autumn (possibly in October).
Gurman said that Apple plans to upgrade the MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iMac product lines this year. According to the developer logs, all 4 machines use the entry-level M4 chip.
Among them, three Macs are equipped with a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU; the fourth machine is equipped with an 8-core CPU and an 8-core GPU (debuting for the first time), and all four M4 Macs have 16GB or 32GB of unified memory. (Note: The M4 used in the 256GB and 512GB iPad Pro models is equipped with a 9-core CPU and a 10-core GPU; while the M4 chip used in the 1TB and 2TB models is equipped with a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, and some Mac models use the same M4 chip as the 1TB/2TB models.)
Gurman did not mention the M4 Pro or M4 Max chip in the revelation, which is estimated to be used in more high-end Mac mini, 14/16-inch MacBook Pro, etc. The M4 Pro and M4 Max chips will have more CPU and GPU cores and a larger memory capacity.
